The devices registered in the icom Connectivity Suite are shown in the Devices list and can be added and managed here.

It will be differentiated between INSYS icom routers and other, third-party devices. These can be PCs, controls, cameras, other routers, etc. that support OpenVPN and referred to as 3rd Party in the icom Connectivity Suite - VPN.

A click on menu down of the Devices dropdown list permits to search a device and directly open its Device information.

  • The ID column lists the unique identification number of this device. This identifier cannot be changed to ensure continuous tracking. A click on the ID takes you to the Device information of this device.

  • The name of this device is listed in the Name column. The name assigned when adding the device can also be edited with a click on the ID in the Device information.

  • The device type is listed in the Type column. The device type is specified when the device is added and cannot be changed.

    • icom OS - INSYS router with icom OS operating system (MRX, MIRO, MRO, ECR and SCR)

    • INSYS OS - INSYS router with INSYS OS operating system (MoRoS, EBW and IMON)

    • 3rd Party - PCs or devices such as controls, cameras or other routers from third-party vendors

  • The serial number of this INSYS router is listed in the Serial No. column. The serial number is specified when the router is added and cannot be changed. No serial number will be registered for third-party devices.

  • The State column indicates the connection status of this device with a delay of 1-2 minutes.

    • circle green Online - the device is connected to the icom Connectivity Suite

    • circle yellow Offline - the device is not connected to the icom Connectivity Suite

    • circle grey Deactivated - the device has been deactivated, i. e. the checkbox deactivated in the classic view (user interface) is activated

    • circle red No Licence - Dno licence is assigned to the device or the assigned licence has expired (the checkbox disabled is also activated in the classic view, but as long as no licence is assigned to the device, this status appears)

  • The Since column indicates since when this device is in this state.

  • The Group column indicates to which group this device is assigned to. To change the group, click on arrow u left top in the title bar to switch back to the classic view and change the group there.

  • The Accessible IP column indicates the IP address under which this device can be accessed.

  • The Licence column indicates the licence that is assigned to this device. A click on the Licence takes you to the Licence information of this licence. The licence can have three different states:

    • circle green the licence is valid

    • circle yellow the licence is about to expire (within 7 days for monthly licences and 7 weeks for all other licences)

    • circle red the licence has expired

  • The OpenVPN version of the client is displayed in the OpenVPN column. [1].

  • The Firmware version of the router is displayed in the FirmwareL column. For older firmware versions, a range or only the basic version may be displayed instead of the exact version. [1]

If additional fields are defined, a column will be appended to the table for each additional field.

The date of the last update of the list is appears in the upper right corner of the list. A click on refresh updates the list immediately. All timestamps are in CET.

A click on plus blue ADD DEVICE permits to add further devices.

The visible columns of the list are defined with a click on view column COLUMNS. A filter variant FILTER permits the list to be filtered by searched content. Changes to the columns and applied filters will be reset the next time the page is loaded. tray arrow down EXPORT permits to export the visible content of the list after applying the filters to a CSV file (storage upon applying the in the download directory of the browser) or print it. The name of the CSV file contains the time at which the data was generated and does not have to match the time of the export.

Device information

A list of all devices with their most important information is displayed here.

A click on menu down behind Devices permits to search a device and directly open its detailed information.

  • The most important properties of this device are listed in the Properties field.

    • The descriptive name assigned when the device was added is displayed under Name; it can be changed for routers by clicking on pencil blue Change name.

    • The device type defined when the device was added is displayed under Type; this can not be changed later.

    • The device code assigned when the device was added is displayed under Device code; it can be changed by clicking on pencil blue Change code.

    • The serial number of the device defined when the device was added is displayed under Serial number; this can not be changed later.

    • The licence assigned to the device is displayed under Licence; this can be changed by clicking on pencil blue Change licence. A click on the Licence takes you to the Licence information of this licence.

  • Information about the network to which the device is connected is displayed in the Network field.

    • The IP address under which this device can be reached in this network is displayed under Accessible IP. A click on the IP address opens this in the browser.

    • The group to which this device is assigned is displayed under Group.

    • The time of the last status change is displayed under Since.

    • The current status of the connection between the device and the icom Connectivity Suite is displayed under Status.

  • The Custom properties field indicates the content of additional fields and permits to edit it, if configured. The configuration is made in the classic view (click on arrow u left top in the title bar) under My VPNCustom information.

  • The VPN Settings field indicates information about the VPN settings of the server and the client (this device).

    • The encryption method used for the VPN connection is displayed under Encryption.

    • The serial number of the certificate is displayed in decimal format under Certificate [2]

    • The IP address under which this device can be reached in the VPN is displayed under Client VPN IP.

    • The version of the OpenVPN software on the device is displayed under OpenVPN version. [1]

    • The version of the OpenSSL software on the device is displayed under OpenSSL version. [1]

    • The Firmware version of the router is displayed under Firmware-Version. [1]

  • The Data Traffic field indicates the volume of data transmitted in the respective direction.

  • All activities, i.e. changes related to this device, are listed in the Activities field. For details in the table refer to Activities.


1. This information is unknown until the first successful connection to the device. It may not be possible to determine the precise details for all devices. Further, some device types do not return version information and remain labelled Unknown
2. Attention: the serial number of the certificate is displayed in hexadecimal format in the properties of the certificate file. If the mouse is hovered over the serial number, its expiration date will be displayed. If the device has several certificates, the active certificate is displayed bold. A click on dots vertical allows you to create a new certificate, download the latest certificate and revoke old certificates.
