SMS messages
In order to be able to send an SMS by the icom Data Suite, the modem in the router must know the SMS center number of the provider. This is usually read out from the SIM card. If no number is stored on the SIM card, this must be entered in the Interfaces menu on the Slot [x]: LTE page in the web interface of the router; [x] stands for the number of the slot in the router that contains the used modem in case of a flexible extendible router.
In order to be able to receive an SMS by the icom Data Suite, incoming SMS must be forwarded to the container. The checkbox Forward SMS to containers must be checked in the Administration menu on the Container page in the web interface of the router .
If an incoming message is not recognised, i.e. the monitoring for the receipt of this message does not trigger, the content of the message must be examined thoroughly. Typos, different capitalisation or some special characters can be the reason that a message will not be recognised.
Message text may contain variables and their actual value will be inserted. The exact syntax of these variables is described here.
