The routers of INSYS icom permit to send messages upon the occurrence of different events.

The messages can be sent as e-mail, SMS, SNMP trap or MCIP telegram. A variety of events can trigger the dispatch of a message, including events that may be critical for IT security, such as:

  • A change of the configuration has taken place

  • A network cable has been connected or disconnected at an Ethernet port

  • A (successful or unsuccessful) login attempt has been detected

  • A violation of a network filter rule has occurred

An action can be assigned to each event. This requires to define the message to be sent and the recipient as well.

If messages are to be sent as e-mail, it is also necessary to enter the credentials of an existing e-mail account in the EventsE-mail account menu.

Add recipient

  1. Click in the update EventsContacts menu on plus to add a new contact.

  2. Specify besides the Real name an E-mail address, a Phone number or an MCIP OID depending on the desired message dispatch method for this contact. If SNMP traps: are to be sent to this contact, its remote SNMP terminal is to be defined. It is recommended to use the protocol SNMP v3 with appropriate secure authentication and encryption only.
